Printing

Outsourced, on demand, white-label printing.

Printing is at the heart of everything we do.

Our software, processes and operations have been refined over the years to ensure that you and your customers always receive the best-quality prints — at the lowest possible prices.

We operate a broad range of print machines and are capable of supplying everything from traditional C-type silver gelatin prints through to inkjet prints using a process commonly known as Giclée printing.

Our print rooms primarily contain HP Designjet Printers driven by an Onyx RIP. Sizes range from 44" to 60" in up to 12 colours. We also have HP Latex and Roland SOLJET machines to support specialist media and finishes.

As a Fine Art Trade Guild approved printer our prints undergo annual testing by a UKAS-approved laboratory. Key requirements for this quality standard are the lightfastness of a print, ensuring that it scores a value of 6 or more on the Blue Wool Scale in all areas.

We only use original and official UV (pigment based) inks ensuring each print faithfully reproduces the tone, temperature and colour of the original image. UV inks contain enhanced light stabilisers; offering far more durability than dye-based inks; protecting the vibrancy of your prints for over 100 years in ideal conditions.

All prints are produced in-house to the same exacting standards, using the same high-quality processes and materials. We’ve been publishing prints for famous artists, photographers and museums over many years and are recognised as one of Europe’s leading fine art printers. We also have HP Latex and Roland SOLJET machines to support specialist media and finishes.

Colour management

One of the most important aspects of our printing process is colour management.

Colour management involves the constant calibration of our printers, monitors, scanners and software to ensure the colour of your prints precisely matches the previews you get from the website. It’s painstaking but vitally important work.

Colour management is a core principle at Prodigi and helps guarantee you receive the best quality prints possible.
